Many flights from and to Nghe An Province's Vinh Airport have had to either be diverted, delayed or cancelled due to thick fog.
According to the director of Vinh Airport, Hoang Van Thu, a total of 16 flights had to either be diverted, delayed or cancelled due to thick fog from Sunday night to Monday morning.
"Unfavourable weather conditions prevented the airport from receiving incoming flights," Thu said. "We had rescheduled flights that were cancelled on Sunday evening to Monday. However, the situation has worsened today with denser fog. Therefore, we don't know when the flights can be operated."
The number of passengers stranded at the airport had increased by Monday afternoon.
