Vo Thi Anh Xuan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of An Giang province, and head of the National Assembly (NA) deputies’ delegation of the province, was elected Vice State President of Vietnam for the 2016 – 2021 tenure at the ongoing 11th session of the 14th NA.

Lawmaker at the 11th session held on April 6 adopted a resolution on the election with 447 approval votes or 93.13% of the total NA deputies. The resolution became effective upon the approval.
Vo Thi Anh Xuan, born on January 8, 1970, was an alternate member of the Party Central Committee in the 11th tenure. She is a member of the Party Central Committee in the 12th and 13 tenures and a deputy of the 14th NA.
On the afternoon of April 6, the NA also approved a resolution on the election of members to the 14th NA Standing Committee. The resolution received 441 votes in favour out of 442 deputies present at the sitting, or 91.88% of the total NA deputies.
The new members are Bui Van Cuong, Nguyen Thi Thanh, Nguyen Dac Vinh, Vu Hai Ha, and Le Quang Huy.
