The incident happened at about 70 nautical miles southwest of Hon Khoai Island in the Vietnamese southernmost province of Ca Mau at around 4 PM on June 22.
The Vietnamese fishing boat sunk by the Singaporean ship
According to Ca Mau Border Guards Command, fishing boat No. CM 99596 was collided by the Singaporean-flagged crude oil tanker Ocean Unicorn.
Luckily, at that time, a Vietnamese vessel nearby saved seven fishermen from the fishing boat.
The witnesses said that right after that Singaporean vessel continued sailing into Thai waters without helping the Vietnamese fishermen.
The Ca Mau Foreign Affairs Department reported the case to the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for investigation.
If true, the Singaporean oil tanker would have to take responsibility for the incident.
