Following Typhoon Yagi, many areas in Nam Dinh have been seriously flooded, including in Truc Ninh District.
Many local schools have temporarily closed.
The floodwaters in the rivers have receded, but some low-lying areas in Nam Dinh are still under water.
Nguyen Trai High School in Truc Ninh District is still struggling with inundation. This is the first time the school has witnessed such severe flooding.
The school has arranged the second floor for students to study.
The teachers used around 50 old stone benches and 70 old tables to create a bridge for students to safely move from the school gate to their classrooms without getting wet.
Hoang Minh Tung from Grade 10A said that thanks to the bridge, he can avoid getting wet.
According to Tran Hai Bang, head of Truc Ninh District’s Department of Education and Training, as many as 10 local schools were deeply submerged due to Typhoon Yagi.
