An exhibition of pictures to welcome the Year of the Cat was opened in Hue on January 26.

30 pictures were shown at the event, all of them by local artists from Hue - the ancient capital of Vietnam.
The pictures feature cats in all aspects of life, adding colour to the Tet festival.
Painter Dang Mau Tuu, former chairman of Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Literature and Arts Association, said, “This is the twelfth year that Hue has hosted an exhibition. The first exhibition was opened in 2002, the Year of the Dragon. Many visitors enjoy these exhibitions.”
Lan Anh, a student at Hue University of Arts, commented, “My classmates and I find these pictures very interesting. Cats are so lovely and and almost remind me of humans. I try to attend this exhibition every year for good luck.”
