Pianist Dang Thai Son will play only one show in HCM City on January 26 to celebrate the 200th birthday of Polish music genius Frederic Chopin.
The concert will be held at the HCM City Opera House and will celebrate the famous pianist’s 30-year career (1980-2010).
Dang Thai Son has become known worldwide after he won the 10th Frederic Chopin Award in Poland. He is the first Asian pianist to have earned this honorable award.
2010 is the Year of Chopin with around 2000 events to be held in the world, including exhibitions, concerts, movie shows and art performances.
Around 1200 events will take place in Poland, where the composer lived in his first 20 years.
