A 12-year-old girl in Soc Trang Province is calling for financial support to help her take care of her adoptive parents and sister who all have serious diseases.

Her mother, Thai Thien Thanh, 41, has cervical cancer, while her father, Le Phuoc Hau, 54, suffer kidney disease and has lost his left leg, while her sister, LeThi Thao was born with Down Syndrome.
Doctors diagnosed Thanh's cancer in 2013 and urged immediate treatment, but the family had no money and she returned home. Her condition is worsening and she can barely move.
Hau tried to support his family, but his kidney problems worsened and he developed heart problems. He is now very weak and is facing death.
Loan was adopted by the couple after her natural mother died due to a serious disease. Her father abandoned her.
To support her family, Loan earns VND5,000-10,000 a day collecting scraps, which is not always enough to put even rice on the table.
A representative from Can Tho Province’s disabled people association, said local residents have joined hands to help Loan’s family, but there is not a lot they can do and appealed for donors to help ease Loan's burden.
