The number of foreign visitors to Vietnam in August reached nearly 900,000, up by 6.3% compared to the previous month and by 34.4% compared to the same period last year, announced by the General Office of Statistics.

As a result, the total number of foreign tourists to Vietnam in the first eight months of 2016 is estimated to reach 6.4 million people, up by 25.4% against the same period last year.
Thanks to Vietnam’s policy on visa exemption, the number of visitors from five European countries has increased considerably. For instance, the number of visitors from Italy and Spain increased by 31.8% and 27.6% respectively.
In addition, the figure of domestic tourists in the first eight months of this year reached 43.1 million.
