US to assist Vietnam to meet trade requirements

Deputy PM greets US Ambassador Demetrios Marantis

Ambassador Marantis, who is also Deputy US Trade Representative, made the statement at a reception given by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh in Hanoi on Feb. 24.

Marantis highlighted Vietnam’s efforts to prepare for the TPP talks, slated for June 2012, after working with a number of ministries and branches on the issue.

Deputy PM Ninh said that the two countries are implementing various activities to raise their level of future cooperation.

He also expressed the hope that Vietnam and the US will soon settle existing issues in their trade relations and exert efforts to promptly complete the TPP talks.
