Two people have been killed in HCM City in recent days by falling trees.
The first incident occurred on August 26 when a big tree branch in Tao Dan Park in District 1 suddenly fell onto a 60-year old woman who named Truong Thi Ngoc Mai was walking there.
Despite being taken to a nearby hospital immediately, she died of serious injuries.
The incident shocked dozens of people who were playing Pokemon Go in the park.

The second victim was a man who died of brain injuries on August 28 after a big tree in District 5 was uprooted and fell on his vehicle.
While he was driving in An Duong Vuong Street, the tree, a gurjum tree, suddenly fell across the road, hitting three houses and dozens of vehicles, causing a large amount of damage.
Most drivers managed to escape, but the man was knocked down on the street by the branches. The unconscious man was rushed to Cho Ray Hospital, but doctors couldn’t save him.
Workers from the HCM City Parks and Trees Company spent a couple of hours to remove the tree.
In July last year, a tree was uprooted during a storm in HCM City and collapsed on a car, but the driver luckily survived.
In August 2014, a 36-year-old woman died after an uprooted tree fell on several people including her while they were traveling on two motorbikes amid a rainstorm in the city.
