Swedish airline TUI Nordic announces route to Phu Quoc

TUI Nordic, a charter airlines based in Stockholm, Sweden, has announced its plans and strategies for Phu Quoc island of southern Kien Giang province, for this winter and next year.

Its maiden flight to Phu Quoc will take off on December 18 using a B-787 Dreamliner flying non-stop from Sweden. TUI Nordic’s programme will see one weekly flight until April 2, 2017.

“Nearly 5,000 Swedish customers will visit the island over the next six months, and our ambition is to further increase the number of Swedish tourists to the destination in coming years,” Tommy Serban, TUI Nordic’s senior product manager, said.

He said the recent opening of Richis Beach Resort and Novotel as well as the availability of a several other hotels meeting TUI Nordic customers’ expectations, such as La Veranda, Sea Star, Vinpearl and Saigon Phu Quoc, have enabled the company to launch the island as a destination for a full season.

“Our customers are thrilled with the new route. Therefore we will be able to provide Phu Quoc with many more customers this coming winter” Serban said.

The company plans to expand its operations in Phu Quoc with a focus on environmental protection.
