
According to the Southern Region Hydro-Meteorological Centre, Dong Xoai District in Binh Phuoc Province recorded a temperature of 39.2 degrees centigrade on April 9. Meanwhile, the figure reached around 40 degrees in Bien Hoa District in Dong Nai Province.
On April 11-20, HCM City will have a temperature of between 35-39 degrees centigrade.
On April 11-12, the temperature in southern localities would be around 35-38 degrees centigrade.
The hot weather would pose fire risks and threaten people with health problems, such as dehydration, exhaustion and strokes due to exposure to prolonged high temperatures.
In some southeastern coastal areas tidal levels have remained high, flooding several low-lying areas, riverbanks and areas outside of dykes during early mornings and evenings.
