A batch of suspected African rhino horn has been detected at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City.

A batch of suspected African rhino horn has been detected at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City.

The cargo comprising 90 pieces of suspected rhino horn is said to be worth around VND40 billion (USD1.73 million). It was detected at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on Tuesday.

According to customs and police, the batch was transported from the Philippines and transited at Tan Son Nhat International Airport before being carried to some other countries.

The case is under further investigation.

Smuggling of illegally-transported rhino horn and ivory has been discovered at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on many occasions.
