President Triet visits Lao province

State President Nguyen Minh Triet left Vientiane for Luang Namtha province on August 25, continuing his official visit to Laos.

At the farewell party, President Choummaly Sayasone highlighted the long-lasting friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam and confirmed that Laos will do its utmost to preserve and develop this relationship.

President Triet echoed his host, saying the fine development of Vietnam-Laos relationship in recent times will encourage the two countries to successfully organise their upcoming national Party congresses.

Mr Triet again conveyed his invitation to Mr Sayasone to visit Vietnam and said he is looking forward to receiving the Lao president in Hanoi very soon.

Before leaving Vientiane, President Triet met with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Laos.

He commended the embassy for fulfilling tasks entrusted to it by the Party and State, saying it has served as a bridge to strengthen friendship between the two countries.

He asked the embassy to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to operate efficiently in Laos.

President Triet began an official visit to Laos on August 24 at the invitation of President Choummaly Sayasone.
