According to the provincial people’s committee, Son My 1 Industrial Park, which covers more than 1,000 hectares in Ham Tan District, is intended to be the first smart and eco-friendly industrial park in Binh Thuan and the coastal southern central region.

Around a third of the area will be used for technical infrastructure, green space, offices and other utilities, while the remainder is for plants.
Son My 1 and Son My 2 gas-fuelled power plants which have a total capacity of 4,500 MW and a 100-ha LNG gas terminal will be among the largest projects in the park.
Son My Industrial Park Investment Construction and Trading Infrastructure Co. Ltd’s project is valued at VND9 trillion (USD387.93 million) and is expected to become a key economic hub in Binh Thuan and nearby areas.
At the ground-breaking ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked the investor to ensure project implementation went according to schedule.
