Park’s assistants, Lee Young-Jin and Kim Han-yoon, were granted the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit.

The conferring was aimed at recognising the significant contributions made by Park and his two assistants to the development of Vietnamese football.

Speaking at the event, MCST Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien thanked and congratulated the three Korean honourees, highlighting that since Park took charge of Vietnam’s national teams, Vietnamese football has achieved great progress.

The official voiced his belief that Park and members of the coaching staff would continue to tap into their abilities and harvest new successes with the national and U23 squads in particular and Vietnamese football as a whole, especially as Vietnam is looking toward several key goals - advancing to the final round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, defending the AFF Suzuki Cup trophy, and repeating their SEA Games gold medal next year.

Sharing his feelings about the noble award, Park Hang-seo said he understood the significance of the Labour Order and was aware of his significant responsibility toward Vietnamese football.

The Korean coach vowed to continue giving his full capability to seeking promising new players and making stronger tactical adjustments to build a much stronger Vietnamese team.

He pledged to make every effort to bring greater joy to Vietnamese fans in the near future.

Park Hang-seo has been working in Vietnam since 2017. Over the past few years, he has made significant contributions to Vietnamese football, most notably leading the Vietnam U23s to their historic silver medal at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship in Changzhou, China; helping the national team win the AFF Cup trophy in 2018; and guiding the Vietnam U22 team to a long-awaited SEA Games gold medal the following year.
