Head of the Mong Cai City Department of Culture and Information, Pham Thi Oanh, said that between Feb 8-12, Mong Cai Border Gate received 40,000 visitors including over 20,000 Chinese tourists.
To serve the rising number of visitors during the Tet holiday, Mong Cai authorities have opened both Cau Bac Luan border gates. Nearly 360 tourism service providers have operated through Tet.
Some of the most popular tourist sites in Mong Cai include Tra Co Communal House, Tra Co Church, Vinh Thuc Lighthouse, and Xa Tac Temple.
Mong Cai City received over 2.40 million visitors in 2023, a 120-percent increase on-year. The city targets to welcome three million visitors this year.
