One man was killed by a falling tree during heavy rain on August 28.
The 20-metre tree was uprooted at 4pm during heavy rain and strong wind. It crushed a car and eight parked motorbikes on the pavement. Three houses nearby were also damaged and the electricity line was dragged down to the street.
Tu Minh Khai, 25, was sitting outside when the tree suddenly fell on him. He was quickly transferred to Cho Ray Hospital but died later due to traumatic brain injury at 9pm.
Five other trees on Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street also fell during the rain, causing traffic congestion.
