According to the National Traffic Safety Committee, 70 road accidents claimed the lives of 32 people, while one railway accident killed one.
No accident on internal waterways was reported during the holiday.
The committee said illegal motorcycle race was seen on national road No.51 on the National Day, and traffic jams occurred on several key routes in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on September 1 and September 4.
During the period, police nationwide dealt with 23,600 traffic violations, revoking 509 driving licences and collecting 9.4 billion VND (421,872 USD) in fines.
