The hailstones occurred around 8 am and lasted for half an hour.

"The hailstorm harmed many crops. This weather is quite unusual," said an official from Mu Cang Chai People’s Committee.

The storm blew the roof off a house in Kim Noi Commune.

The hail stones measured 1.5-2 cm in diameter.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, northeastern localities are witnessing scattered rain, concentrated in the evening. People have been advised to be cautious of the risk of thunderstorms accompanied by hail, lightning, hailstones, and strong gusts of wind. The temperature would fall to 26-29 degrees centigrade.
