A landslide occurred at 4am on August 17 in Hong Hai ward, Ha Hong city, killing Bui Thi Chinh, 50 years old, and her youngest daughter Pham Thi Huong, 25.

The same day, Luu Dinh Vi, 30, was killed in a landslide in Cam Thanh ward, Cam Pha town, which also injured Hoang Nghia Hanh, 26. Both of them from the central province of Nghe An and were working for the Quang Hanh coal company.

The Ha Long municipal People’s Committee provided relief aid worth VND8 million for the bereaved, while the provincial Red Cross granted them VND2 million. The injured victim received VND1 million.
