Earlier, Vietnam’s functional agencies sent a letter on March 20, 2017 to the Indian side announcing the elimination of the temporary ban on importing some agricultural products from India.
After the two sides’ relevant agencies joined hands in exchanging information on inspection activities of product quality, they agreed to officially remove the respective temporary bans on imports of agricultural products.Vietnam-India trade turnover in the first two months of 2017 reached US$1.08 billion, a year-on-year increase of 37.76%. The figure included Vietnam's export earnings of US$454.46 million, up 32.2%.
Key export items with sharp increases in export turnover included tea up 1,508.64%, cakes, candy and products from cereals up 142%, mental up 78% and rubber up 59.19%.
