A low-pressure area will move southwards. Combining with wind convergence, northern provinces will have rain and storms on May 5. The average rainfall will be around 30-70mm every 24 hours. Some localities will have over 100mm of rainfall.

The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting also raised warnings of whirlwinds, hail and strong winds as well as flash flooding and landslides in the mountainous region.

The temperatures in the north-eastern provinces will drop slightly on May 5. Rains and heavy rains are also predicted for Hanoi.
