Construction on the Bưng Bridge project
The 560m-long bridge will span the Tham Lương Canal on Lê Trọng Tấn Street in the districts of Tân Phú and Bình Tân.
Lê Trọng Tấn Street in Bình Tân District will be widened to 30-40m and in Tân Phú District to 30-35m wide. After expansion, the street will have six lanes.
The work, to cost VNĐ514.5 billion (US$ 23 million), is expected to be completed in 20 months.
Lê Trọng Tấn Street’s section at the location where the bridge will be built is now only seven metres wide with two lanes, causing traffic congestion, especially during rush hour.
