Hanoi to host international open dance sport tournament

The 2010 Vietnam International Open Dance Sport Tournament, the Me Trang Cup, will be held in Hanoi on August 13-14.

Fifteen couples from China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and India, will compete against 85 couples from Vietnam at the tournament, according a press release issued on August 9.

The competition aims to improve the skills of young Vietnamese dance sport athletes and select the most outstanding ones for the national dance sport team to attend the upcoming 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China.

The organising board will also hold a beauty pageant for female athletes during the tournament.
