The province has welcomed 2 million international visitors since early this year, up 70 percent on-year, generating revenues of VND5.23 trillion (USD212.61 million). Of the figure, international visitors accounted for around 215,000, up 105 percent on year.

During the Tet Lunar New Year holiday, Phu Quoc served 160,000 visitors, including 43,200 foreigners, up 517 percent on-year.
Cruise ship Costa Serena brought nearly 1,100 tourists to Phu Quoc on February 2. The cruise ship Aida Bella arrived in the city the same day, bringing 1,979 European visitors.
During Tet, many 4-5 star hotels in Phu Quoc recorded a room occupancy rate of more than 90 percent.
Phu Quoc is carrying out tourism promotion activities to attract more visitors from Thailand, Malaysia, Nga, China, Kazakhstan, the Czech Republic, Poland, the US and Mongolia.
Budget carrier VietJet Air has opened the Phu Quoc-Taiwan air route with seven return flights per week, which is expected to boost tourism development.
