As of 9 am, as many as 54 flights had to be delayed departure time from Noi Bai until the weather improves. The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines said that 40 of their flights had been affected by the dense fog at Noi Bai this morning.

The same weather incident has also affected flights to Thanh Hoa's Tho Xuan Airport and Nghe An's Vinh Airport since last night. Vietnam Airlines said that four of their flights from HCM City to Tho Xuan and Vinh had to be delayed by between 1-5 hours due to low visibility caused by the dense fog.

Noi Bai Airport said that dense fog often occurs in February and March in Hanoi and some other northern and northern central provinces, affecting flights. Thanks to its renovated lighting system, the number of flights affected by the bad weather has been reduced this year.
