A man in Bao Dap Commune in the northern Yen Bai Province has been accused of sexually abusing his two daughters.
N.V. Tuan was denounced by his own family on August 28. The communal police quickly called him to the station for statements after receiving the report from the family. Tuan allegedly admitted to the police the offences.

Tuan had raped his 16 year-old daughter once while his wife was not home. He also molested his 10-year-old daughter regularly.
Other family members noticed the girls' strange behaviour. After holding a family meeting, Tuan pleaded for forgiveness and his family made him promise to never violate his daughters again. However, Tuan's brother-in-law decided that such serious offence must be brought to police.
Nguyen Van Dung, head of Tran Yen District police force said they decided to start the prosecution on August 31.
According to the Penal Code, those who rape children aged between full 13 years and engage in incest with children below 16 years shall be sentenced to between 12 and 20 years of imprisonment. The offenders will be sentenced for life or face capital punishment if they commit the crime in an organised manner more than once or cause severe harm to the victims.
In 2012, Hoang Van Duyen in Hanoi was given life sentence for raping his daughter. Four years ago, a man in Hue was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment also for sexually abusing his daughter.
