VND130 million was donated through the newspaper’s Compassionate Hearts Programme, VND20 million through the Vietnam Study Promotion Fund with the remainder sent directly to Le Quoc Long’s family in Son Thuy Commune, Le Thuy District.
After an article about the family’s situation was published on Dantri, many people made donations.
Long, a Grade-4 student, lives with his 42-year-old mother Le Thi Duyen who has faced Basedow Disease. Due to financial difficulties, Duyen has stayed at home for self-treatment. The inappropriate treatment has caused her complications such as heart problems and arthritis.
