Vietnam’s northern region is set for a cold spell next week with a sharp temperature drop forecasted to hit many mountainous areas.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the cold weather would affect northern localities on February 22-23 with temperatures falling to 15-16 degrees centigrade.

On February 23, the temperature in some mountainous areas in Lang Son Province would fall to between 7-15 degrees centigrade.

Hanoi is currently experiencing warm days. On February 18-21, the temperature would rise to 28-30 degrees centigrade.

Meanwhile, on February 22-24, the central region would also witness cold weather with a temperature of 15-20 degrees centigrade.

From February 14, the hot weather is expanding in the Central Highlands and the southern regions with temperatures of 35-36 degrees centigrade.
