A rampaging buffalo has killed an old woman and injured two others in the central province of Quang Binh.
The buffalo belonged to a family in Loc Thuy Commune in Le Thuy District. The animal was bought recently and tethered to be slaughtered.
However, at around 4:30 pm on Thursday, the chain suddenly broke and the buffalo rushed onto a nearby road and attacked an 80-year-old woman who was walking. The woman died on the spot from severe injuries.
The buffalo owner and another person tried to recapture the buffalo but they were injured. The two were quickly sent to hospital for emergency aid.
The animal then ran into a local house. The authorities had to use firearms to kill the buffalo.
