Chief of the provincial police office, Col. Tran Trung Hieu said on December 18 that Nguyen Danh Dung will be detained for three month on charge of taking advantage of freedom and democracy rights to infringe upon interests of the State, legitimate rights and interests of individuals and organisations as stipulated in Article 258 of the Criminal Code.
Since October 2015, Dung has launched and run ThienAn TV channel on Youtube, Thien An and quachthienan pages on Facebook and a blog named “tinhhinhdatnuocvietnam”, on which, he published 700 video clips that distorted, fabricated, blackened and defamed Party and State leaders.
He admitted that he collected and edited contents from reactionary websites and social media, added ThienAn TV logo and adjusted his accent to attract viewers.
