According to Ha Tinh officials, during the wars fought against the common enemies of Vietnam and Laos, tens of thousands of Vietnamese soldiers, officials and youth volunteers travelled to Laos to support the Lao army and people.

Many Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts lost their lives on Lao soil, contributing significantly to the revolutionary victories of both countries.
