Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh this morning participated in the inauguration ceremony for the Phan Thiet-Dau Giay and Mai Son-National Highway 45 sections.
The Mai Son-National Highway 45 section cost VND12.11 trillion (USD515.36 million). Starting in September 2020, the 63.37-kilometre section connects the northern province of Ninh Binh and the northern central city of Thanh Hoa.

The Phan Thiet-Dau Giay section linking Binh Thuan and Dong Nai provinces has an investment of VND12.57 trillion. It is 99 kilometres long.
According to the prime minister, the operation of these sections will help to shorten the travel time from the central to the southern regions. He urged contractors to ensure the construction of the whole North-South Expressway route, running from the northern province of Lang Son and the southernmost province of Ca Mau.

Mai Son-National Highway 45 sub-project
At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Le Dinh Tho said that by 2025, Vietnam has set a target to have around 3,000 kilometres of highway. The figure is expected to increase to 5,000 kilometres by 2025.
