Vietnam reported one new Covid-19 patient this morning, February 2, according to the Ministry of Health.

Vietnam reported one new Covid-19 patient this morning, February 2, according to the Ministry of Health.

The case is a 44-year-old man from Lai Cach Town in the northern province of Hai Duong’s Cam Giang District.

Vietnam is facing a new Covid-19 outbreak

On January 31, he suffered from fever, cough and sore throat and went to Hai Duong General Hospital for medical checks-up. At the hospital, he was provided with a Covid-19 test which then showed that he was positive for the virus.

At present, he is being quarantined and treated at the hospital.

By 6 am this morning, Vietnam had a total number of 964 locally-infected Covid-19 cases, including 271 since January 27.

Currently, 27,714 people are being put under quarantine, including 227 at hospitals, 20,917 at quarantine sites and 6,570 at home.

The country has witnessed 35 Covid-19 deaths.
