Duy successfully reached the summit of Mt. Manaslu on the afternoon of September 22 at 2:51 p.m.

This milestone is significant, not only for Duy, but also for Temba Bhote who became the first guide to lead a Vietnamese climber to the top of Mt. Manaslu, the world’s eighth-highest peak and one of the most challenging in the world, the newspaper wrote.

Known for its difficult terrain coupled with unpredictable weather conditions, Mt. Manaslu is widely considered to be one of the more challenging peaks in the Himalayas, making this achievement more commendable.

The pair successfully reached the summit without any rotations, a rare and impressive accomplishment in high-altitude climbing. This marks a historic achievement in the mountaineering world for both Vietnam and Nepal, the foreign media outlet reported.

Duy’s success marks a proud moment for the nation in the realm of extreme sports, the newspaper concluded.
