According to Ha, this urgent project must be initiated in December and completed by next year.

The project will cost VND875 billion (USD35.71 million).

The Deputy Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Transport, the project investor, and the People's Committee of Phu Tho Province to direct contractors to finish the bridge foundation before April 2025, ahead of the rainy season, and ensure the project pace as scheduled.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Finance have been assigned the task of collaborating with the Ministry of Transport to ensure the necessary funding for the project.

Phong Chau Bridge collapsed on September 7 due to rising water levels in the Red River in the wake of super typhoon Yagi, leaving 13 dead and missing.
