The five-metre-high hillside suddenly collapsed, causing soil and rocks to slide down and several small pine trees uprooted. The debris blanketed more than half of the road. Luckily, no vehicles were passing at the time, so there were no injuries.

Due to the landslide, traffic was restricted to just half of the road.

Da Lat authorities mobilised rescue forces immediately after the incident, placing warning barriers and managing traffic flow.

Prenn Pass, stretching 7.3 kilometres along National Highway 20, is seen as an important route linking Da Lat to Lien Khuong Airport and the upcoming Dau Giay-Lien Khuong Expressway, which connects Lam Dong to HCM City and other southern localities. The upgrade and expansion of the pass, costing VND552 billion, was completed early this year.
