Man was welcomed at Vnukovo International Airport by First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Ivan Melnikov, other officials from the State Duma, and representatives from relevant Russian agencies.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi, embassy staff, and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Russia were also on hand.

During his stay, the Vietnamese legislator will hold talks and have meetings with senior Russian leaders. He will meet with leaders of political parties, localities, friendship associations, as well as businesses from both Russia and Vietnam.

Notably, Chairman Tran Thanh Man and State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin will co-chair the third session of the Vietnam-Russia Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.

The Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee is the highest level of parliamentary cooperation model and the first of its kind between the National Assembly of Vietnam and a foreign legislative body. The first session was successfully held in 2019 in Russia, and the second session took place in 2023 in Vietnam.

At this year’s meeting, the two sides will discuss and explore ways to further enhance effective, substantial, and mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as defense, security, oil and gas, energy, trade, investment, education and training, culture, and regional development.

At the end of the session, both sides will issue a joint communiqué.
