More whales spotted off Phu Yen coast
Two whales have appeared off the coast of the southern central province of Phu Yen.
According to a representative from the Hoa Hiep Nam Border Guard Station, crew at a local fishing boat saw a whale near Dien Cape at around 8 am on Friday. They used a phone to record a clip of the whale.
After being reported, the Hoa Hiep Nam Border Guard Station asked local fishermen to protect the whale and keep a safe distance from it.
On the same day, a man from Phu Hoa District also saw a whale hunting for food near Dien Cape.
According to Dao Quang Minh, director of the Phu Yen Fisheries Sub-Department, the whale might have been looking for food. This shows that the marine environment in the area is quite good.
On July 16 last year, a tour guide captured footage of a pair of whales at Vung Ro Bay in Phu Yen.
