Vietnamese boxer wins WBA Asia Championship 2022

Vietnamese boxer Le Huu Toan on March 20 outplayed his Thai opponent Kitidech Hirunsuk after 12 rounds, winning the WBA Asia Championship title in the minimum weight division.

This is the first time Le Huu Toan has competed for the minimum weight title after a series of three wins, including two knock-outs (KO). Toan is also the defending Vietnamese boxing champion under 48kg.

His opponent in the final game is Kitidech Hirunsuk (Thailand) who has had an impressive record of eight wins in his career, including five KOs.

Despite the disadvantage of height, Toan defeated the Thai opponent to win the belt after three judge announced scorecards 115-113, 116-112, 116-112 in favour of the Vietnamese boxer.
