Many southern areas including HCM City are seeing high levels of UV radiation according to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

Ho Chi Minh City reported a UV radiation index of 7.6 which was a very harmful level at 12 pm on December 20, the centre warned.
It is forecasted that the UV radiation index would rise to its highest level on three days from December 21 to 23 in the city.
HCM City has often seen hot and sunny weather over the past few years. Sometimes the city reports high temperatures of up to 40 degrees and a harmful UV index of over 10.5.
According to the WHO, the UV indexes of between 8-10 can burn the skin after some 25 minutes of exposure.
