DTiNews readers have donated nearly VND210m (USD9,500) to a family in Binh Dinh Province who were burnt and lost their daughter after an accident.
Nguyen Thi Thanh Hang had just graduated from the University of Finance and Marketing and was preparing to go to Ho Chi Minh City to work. On September 2, she was carrying her mother and brother to buy necessities when the collision occurred.
"The two men had just bought petrol. They were holding the can while smoking cigarettes so when their motorbike crashed into Hang's, everyone was burnt," Nguyen Van Thanh, Hang's father said.
One of the men died immediately. Hang, her mother, brother and the other man were hospitalised.
With monthly salary of VND5m (USD227), Thanh is struggling to afford long-term and costly treatments for his wife and two children. His second son, who is studying in Ho Chi Minh City, has had to return to Hanoi to take care of his mother and siblings.

Due to the severity of the burns, they were transferred to Hanoi's National Institute of Burns in critical conditions. All of Hang's fingers were amputated but her situation was critical with 73% of her body suffering three to five degree burns. Hang died on September 21.

"I told my wife that Hang was getting better or else she won't be able to live through this. Please tell her that Hang is still fine," Thanh said.
DTiNews visited the family and transferred VND209,570,000 from readers to help them overcome this tragic period. Hang's mother insisted that her injuries were light so the money should be donated to Hang. Visitors had to keep encouraging her to get better to be discharged soon.
