The United States Department of State has been experiencing these problems, including power outages, since July 19. The glitch has caused an extensive global backlog of visa applications.

They has tried to fix the problem, but visa processing is still significantly delayed. When the system is repaired, applications for visas will be prioritised.

David McCawley sent an apology to all applicants for any inconveniences caused by the delays. He advised Vietnamese applicants to postpone any trip to the US until the problem is fixed.

McCawley also said that people should submit their applications by several weeks in advance of any planned trips.
