Nguyen Ngoc Anh, 14, and her brother Nguyen Binh Minh, 7, in Hiep Hoa District's Thuong Thang Commune, sent a letter calling for help to Dantri/DTiNews.
According to the girl, their mother Nguyen Thi Lien, 42, was hospitalised after serious headaches. She was diagnosed with the final stage of a brain tumour. The tumour was so big that she could not have a surgery. A short time later, Lien died.

Nguyen Thi Soan, Anh’s maternal grandmother said that after a divorce, Lien brought up the children on her own. She worked for a garment company for a modest income. She also did odd jobs to earn more money to support her children.
"She started struggling with consecutive headaches from October last year," Soan recalled. "However, she did not go to hospital for a check-up due to a lack of money. And by the time she was hospitalised, her condition was critical."
Anh wanted to leave school to go to Hanoi to look for a job, but the grandmother did not agree as she was still too young.
Nguyen Van Trung, chairman of Hiep Hoa District's Red Cross, said the two children now depend on her grandmother. However, Son is also ailing. He hoped that donors could help the family.
