The move follows the recent approval of a USD1.53 billion urban complex project in Hung Yen Province, marking a major investment milestone for the American conglomerate in the country.
According to the working schedule released by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Vice Chairman Vo Van Hoan is set to meet on May 19 with Charles James Boyd Bowman, Director of the Trump International Hung Yen project. A second meeting is scheduled for May 22, when Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization and son of former US President Donald Trump, will hold talks with city officials.
The upcoming discussions will focus on surveying potential sites and refining plans for the proposed Trump Tower in Thu Thiem, an area earmarked for large-scale commercial and residential development.
This initiative follows the Trump Organization’s successful proposal in Hung Yen Province for a 990-hectare mixed-use development, which includes a golf course, high-end residences, and hospitality services. The project is designed to accommodate nearly 30,000 residents, integrating luxury living with eco-friendly amenities.
Total investment for the Hung Yen project is estimated at VND39.8 trillion (approximately USD1.53 billion), including funding for land compensation and resettlement. Construction is slated to begin in the second quarter of 2025, with completion expected by 2029.
The planned Trump Tower in Thu Thiem marks the organization’s first major development in Ho Chi Minh City and underscores growing interest from global investors in Vietnam’s dynamic urban growth corridors.
