At around 11 am on Thursday, officers stopped the vehicle on a road in Ky Anh District. The driver, Le Xuan Phu, 35, was travelling from Do Luong District in Nghe An Province.

The truck was found transporting 180 African swine fever-infected pigs
The truck was carrying 180 pigs weighing approximately 18 tonnes. Phu was unable to present quarantine documents or certificates confirming the animals' source.
Local authorities collected samples and sent them to the Region III Animal Health Department. Test results confirmed the pigs were infected with African swine fever.
Phu admitted he had been hired to transport the pigs from Nghe An to Quang Binh Province and Hue City for sale.
The case remains under investigation.
