Trees have been uprooted and many streets have been flooded as the Storm Etau hit some southern central provinces from Binh Dinh to Ninh Thuan early Tuesday morning.


At 8 am, strong winds made it impossible for motorbike drivers to travel on streets in Khanh Hoa Province’s Nha Trang City.

Many drivers had to leave their motorbikes and came to seek shelter at street-side houses.


Many trees were uprooted.

Similar scenes were seen in Phu Yen Province’s Tuy Hoa City with trees fallen while some streets were flooded due to the storm.

National Highway 29 in Phu Yen Province’s Song Hinh District was blocked at some sections due to rising floods.
Strong winds were also reported on Quang Ngai Province’s Ly Son Island this morning. Provinces from Thua Thien Hue to Khanh Hoa saw rainfall of between 50-150mm from 7 pm on November 9 to 4 am on November 10.
Storm Etau, the 12th of its kind to affect Vietnam this year, is forecasted to cause heavy rains in many central and southern central provinces from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa from today until November 12 with average rainfall of between 200-400mm.
