Transportation services through Hai Van tunnel before and after Tet have been heavily overloaded due to the dramatic increase in demand during the holidays.
Motorbike transportation demands have remained high, even after Tet
According to Hai Van Trading Service & Production Enterprise, since last December, the company mobilised all of its trucks and passenger vehicles to transport passengers and motorbikes through the Hai Van tunnel.
Lien Ngoc Hoa, Manager of the company said it has utilised 100% of its drivers and 30 trucks, 20 passenger vehicles and 65 workers. They worked all day through to the 10th day of Tet to try to handle the demands.
During Tet, on average, there were 3,000 motorbikes or 6,000 people transported. At peaks, there were 5,000 motorbikes.
Passengers were forced to wait for transport
Until this morning, the amount of passengers and vehicles continues to remain very high, although it has decreased since Tet.
According to Hoa, despite the demand going up, prices remain the same.
