Vietnamese badminton player, Nguyen Tien Minh defeated Japanese rival Kento Momota 2-0 in the semi-finals of the US Open Prix Gold 2013 on July 13.

During the match, his Japanese rival lost the self-confidence, he had shown very clearly in the quarter-finals.

Momota became clumsy before Tien Minh’s varied attacking techniques, forcing him to make many mistakes.

Minh, however, found no obstacles and went on to beat Momota 21-12 and 21-8 after only 31 minutes.

At the same time, Wing Ki Wong (Hong Kong, China) triumphed over Boonsak Ponsana (Thailand) 2-1.

On July 14, Minh will face Wong in the final round. Last year, he defeated the Chinese rival in the quarter-finals of the Taiwan Open.
